Congratulations to our fellow Rotarian Tom Plumb!

Last week, the mayor of Trujillo, Honduras, Hector Mendoza (a Rotarian), the city council, and the Trujillo Rotary Club presented Tom Plumb (Rotarian of Port Isabel) with the keys of the city.

Many school principals and teachers were in attendance at the celebration, and many speeches were made.
This ceremony was to recognize his 17 years of addressing the needs of communities in the barrios and villages of Trujillo, Honduras. Hands to Honduras, under the aegis of the Port Isabel, Texas, and Trujillo Rotary Clubs and thanks to US Rotary volunteers, the Rotary Foundation, donations from Rotarians and friends, and community workers, has built 52 classrooms in 26 communities, 12 water projects including a reforestation project serving over 30,000 people, and 5 electrification projects, and so much more.
Our Rotary District 5930 is proud of him as an example of #peopleofaction.

If you would like to make a donation to Hands to Honduras to continue this project here is the information. Donations are tax-deductible.
