What Is Rotary?

Membership Attraction Idea:  Post “What is Rotary” on your Website.  Use this video to show to prospective members.

IGNITE Membership attraction and  engagement (retention) best practices program is WORKING!

2014-2015
  • 23 Ignite Clubs - Net gain 43 Members  a 3.9% growth vs. Non-Ignite Clubs net loss (21) -2.8% decrease in membership
There are tremendous opportunities to share the gift of Rotary with our community members and engage and retain our current members.

Why do members leave our clubs?
1.  They “don’t know what they don’t know about Rotary.”
      Engagement & Retention:
  • Provide your new members with orientation training – “Fireside Chat” and continued opportunities for learning about Rotary, their club and District through various activities.
  • Hold a Club Assembly focused on membership
  • Invite a District Membership Committee member to be a speaker at your club
  • Your own ideas
2.  They were NOT provided an opportunity to get engaged in a club activity within their first week of joining Rotary.
      Engagement & Retention:
  • Get your new members involved with a committee assignment
  • Get your new members involved in a service project
  • Provide your new members with a mentor
  • Your own ideas

Your District Membership Team is available to work with you and for you on:
- Ignite – the D5930 best practices membership attraction and engagement (retention) program.
- Alternate ideas that work for your club.
