On Sunday evening, September 25, 2016, the Rotary Club of Aransas Pass had a social at Crab-N Restaurant to welcome our District 5930 Governor, Debbie High. More excitement followed.

During that meeting she inducted Ramiro Gomez as the incoming 2016-2017 Club President and congratulated James Hollan as outgoing 2015-2016 Club President.  Both men received appropriate badges and pins for their positions and James received a congratulatory plaque.
At the conclusion of the social, DG Debbie presented Ronnie Yeager with a Sapphire Paul Harris Fellow Pin.  This pin acknowledges that Ronnie, who is already a Paul Harris Fellow, has contributed an additional $1000.00 to the Paul Harris Fellowship Fund for a total contribution of $2000.00.
The Paul Harris Fellowship is named for Paul Harris, who founded Rotary with three business associates in Chicago in 1905.  The Fellowship was established in his honor in 1957 to express appreciation for a contribution of US $1,000 to the humanitarian and educational programs of The Rotary Foundation. Those programs include an array of projects that save and invigorate the lives of people around the world and enhance international friendship and understanding.  Foundation programs provide educational opportunities, food, potable water, health care, immunizations (including polio vaccines), and shelter for millions of persons.  These activities are funded, implemented and managed by Rotarians and Rotary clubs around the globe.
At the regular Rotary Club Meeting on Monday, September 26, 2016, DG Debbie congratulated the Club on their accomplishments and provided insight and information on how to progress in the upcoming year.
