The Port Isabel Rotary Club distributed personalized Dictionaries to each of the 3rd grade students in Port Isabel ISD yesterday. The Rotary Dictionary Project is a nationwide effort to provide young students with their own personal dictionaries.

This year’s dictionary is filled with more than just terms and definitions. It also includes a mini encyclopedia filled with maps, facts about U.S. presidents, and much more.

Rotary members say seeing the joy on the children’s faces when they learn the book is theirs to keep makes the project worthwhile. Teachers and students alike were excited to receive the books.

Rotarians President Lonnie Gillihan, Teri Capistran, Teresa Bryant, John Munoz, Karla Schurin, Diana Delgado, Mike Kreider and Jared H. Thank you to Principal LeBlanc and the PIISD Administration for welcoming us.
