The Veterans Day Celebration is just around the corner. Date is November 11, 2025, Bobby Lackey Stadium, 784 N.Westgate Dr., Weslaco Texas 78596.
This will be our 4th annual event. Three years ago, we honored WWII Veterans and this year we will honor Korean and Vietnam Veterans. We have received approval from the FAA for the Flyover.
The objective of the Veterans Day Celebration is as follows:
1. Honor All Veterans
2. Teach patriotism to our school children
3. Why we have the freedom and liberty that we enjoy in Country
We also support our JROTC at both of our High Schools, provide scholarships for JROTC Students and this year we are working with the City of Weslaco to raise funds to have a similar Iwo Jima Memorial like the one located at the Marine Military Academy. This Iwo Jima Memorial will be located at Harlon Block Park in Weslaco.
We appreciate your support. The Hidalgo Veterans County Office has been very helpful in assisting our Rotary Club. There are many others, National Guard, County Precinct One, Weslaco Chamber of Commerce, Weslaco VFW and our Weslaco Independent School District has been our best partner in helping us with their participation in this great event.
