District Governor's Embracing a Year of Lasting Impact: A Call to Action for Rotary Message
Dear Fellow Rotarian,

Rotary Membership & New Club Development – August Theme

As we begin this new Rotary year, our district is called to become true Agents of Change. Together, we have an opportunity to grow Rotary across South Texas by inviting others into a movement built on service, leadership, friendship, and lasting impact.

 The Power of Connection
At this stage in life, meaningful connections matter more than ever. Rotary’s August focus on Membership and New Club Development invites us to look beyond simply adding members and instead imagine the lives, communities, and futures we can shape together. Rotary is more than an organization—it is a global network of 1.4 million professionals and community leaders united by service, integrity, and the belief that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things when they work together. Whether you are seeking deeper purpose, stronger professional relationships, or a meaningful way to model service for your family, Rotary offers a place to grow, lead, and make a difference that reaches far beyond yourself.

Reimagining What a Rotary Club Can Be
Rotary clubs are no longer defined only by long weekday lunches or traditional meeting formats. Today’s Rotary is alive with possibility, meeting people where they are and opening new pathways for busy professionals to serve, connect, and lead with purpose. Through satellite clubs, passport clubs, e-clubs, and cause-based clubs, members can unite around shared passions such as environmental sustainability, youth mentorship, global health, and other causes that stir the heart and call people to action. If a club does not yet exist that fits your schedule, interests, or vision for service, August is the perfect time to help create one. Imagine gathering friends, colleagues, and neighbors who believe service can be flexible, meaningful, and deeply connected to the needs of today’s world, then building a Rotary experience that inspires action, welcomes new voices, and creates lasting change.

 Your Invitation to Lead
Rotary needs the gifts only you can bring: your professional expertise, life experience, energy, and fresh perspective. This August membership push is more than an effort to fill seats—it is a call to discover, welcome, and inspire the next generation of leaders who will shape Rotary’s future and meet tomorrow’s challenges with courage and hope. By joining or helping develop a new club, you open the door to leadership, international service, and an impact greater than anyone can achieve alone. This is your moment to step forward, lead with purpose, and help create “Lasting Changes” in your community and around the world.

Sincerely,

Jack Alspaugh

District Governor 2026-27

Using AI tools to promote your club
Artificial Intelligence can seem like the answer to all your club’s promotional needs. With just a few prompts, AI tools can help you create engaging social media posts, compelling event invitations, and inspiring project ideas. However, it’s important to use AI responsibly to ensure that its use aligns with Rotary’s mission and values, which is why Rotary has developed two PDFs that outline appropriate and recommended uses of this transformative tool: AI Guidelines for Members and Member FAQ on AI Use.
