District Governor's Message

Dear Rotary Family,

It feels like just yesterday—July 1st, 2024—when I sat down to write my first newsletter as your District Governor. I was filled with excitement and anticipation, inspired by a vision of dreaming big and igniting the magic of Rotary.

Now, as I write this final newsletter of my term, my heart is filled with that same gratitude and a deep sense of pride in how far we’ve come together.

From the very beginning, we dreamed big:
*Net membership growth of 50+—and I’m thrilled to share that we’ve surpassed it with 63+ members!
*$120 per capita Foundation giving (In honor of Rotary’s 120th Birthday)—we’re so close at $118!
*A 100% Giving District—with 68% of our clubs contributing, we’re just steps away from this goal.
I’m calling on each of you to help us finish strong. Let’s rally together to fulfill our dreams by June 30th—turning possibilities into lasting impact!

Celebrating Service, Connection, and New Beginnings

*Global Grant Recognition at Sarita Elementary
We celebrated this impactful project with Trustee Gregg Podd, blending education with sustainability and reflecting Rotary’s Seventh Area of Focus – Supporting the Environment.

*Victoria Clay Shoot & Port Lavaca 100-Year Celebration
Our vibrant spirit shone at these milestone events, showcasing Rotary’s enduring legacy.

*Las Marias Village, Guatemala – Healthy Kitchen Project
Partnering with clubs across our district, we created a new, ventilated school kitchen, ensuring health, dignity, and opportunity for children and the community.

* Reliving the Starfish Moment: I was honored to revisit the Los Fresnos & Brownsville Sunrise Clubs and reexperience their warmth, dedication, and community spirit.

*Assembly & New Officers Induction – May 31
Our district celebrated the induction of new officers with an inspiring gathering, setting the stage for a year of service and impact as we welcome the themes “Unite for Good” and “The Butterfly Effect.”

Rotary Adventures Ahead!
* Under 40 Forum – Ensenada, June 13-14 – Fostering leadership and service.
*Rotary International Convention – Calgary, June 21-25 – A celebration of connection and vision.
*PHF Recognition Event – Victoria, June 29 – Honoring Area 1&2 PHFs
*Friendship Exchange – Coming up in September with D6000

A Call to Action: Let’s Finish Strong!
As we wrap up this Rotary year, I invite every club to:
- Update & Achieve your goals – Let’s finish strong by accomplishing the goals we set at the beginning of the year.
- Fulfill your Annual Fund commitment – Imagine the impact if each Rotarian gave at least $25. Together, we can multiply our impact and change lives!

Final Thoughts
As my term concludes on June 30th, my heart is brimming with memories, gratitude, and pride. You’ve shown me what it truly means to be a Dreamcatcher—to catch the dreams of others and lift them into reality.
I’ll still be around, cheering you on—and perhaps even dropping into a club meeting or two! Thank you for making this year unforgettable.

Quote of the Month:

Let’s be Dreamcatchers, igniting the Magic of Rotary as we unite for good and set the Butterfly Effect in motion.
