District Governor's Embracing a Year of Lasting Impact: A Call to Action for RotaryMessage
Dear Fellow Rotarian,

As we embark on this Rotary year, the incoming President's theme, "Create Lasting Impact," resonates deeply with the core of our mission. For many of us, particularly those in mid-career, the desire to contribute meaningfully and see tangible results from our efforts is paramount. This theme isn't just a slogan; it's an invitation to re-evaluate how we engage with our communities and with Rotary itself.

It calls for us to move beyond transactional service and toward initiatives that foster sustainable change, address root causes, and empower those we serve to build a brighter future. Let us consider how our professional skills, our networks, and our passion can be leveraged to create ripples of positive transformation that extend far beyond the immediate completion of a project.

This year, the emphasis on "Lasting Impact" challenges us to think strategically about our service. It encourages us to seek out opportunities where our contributions can create enduring value, whether through mentorship programs that shape future leaders, infrastructure projects that improve quality of life for generations, or advocacy efforts that enact systemic change. For a Rotarian who has seen the evolution of our organization and seeks to ensure its continued relevance and effectiveness, this theme offers a clear directive. It's about building a legacy, not just completing a task. It’s about fostering environments where our actions empower others and lead to self-sufficiency, ensuring that the positive changes we initiate continue to thrive long after our direct involvement ceases.

I encourage each of you to reflect on how you can personally embody this theme. How can we, individually and collectively, refine our approach to service to maximize its long-term benefits? Let us embrace this opportunity to innovate, collaborate, and dedicate ourselves to creating impact that truly lasts. By focusing our energy and resources on initiatives with enduring significance, we can reaffirm Rotary's commitment to "doing good in the world" and leave an indelible mark on our communities and the lives of those we touch.

Sincerely,

Jack Alspaugh

District Governor 2026-27

Share the Create Lasting Impact message

The 2026-27 presidential message, Create Lasting Impact, reminds us that “change is only the beginning. Impact is what endures.” This message, shared by President-elect Yinka Babalola at the 2026 International Assembly, reflects our shared purpose as people of action working together to create meaningful change and provides a framework for telling those stories of impact. Using this Rotary-wide message helps create a consistent, unified voice that strengthens recognition of Rotary and supports our continued growth. Visit the Brand Center to get ready-to-use graphics, templates, and guidance to help you share the message effectively.

Using AI tools to promote your club
Artificial Intelligence can seem like the answer to all your club’s promotional needs. With just a few prompts, AI tools can help you create engaging social media posts, compelling event invitations, and inspiring project ideas. However, it’s important to use AI responsibly to ensure that its use aligns with Rotary’s mission and values, which is why Rotary has developed two PDFs that outline appropriate and recommended uses of this transformative tool: AI Guidelines for Members and Member FAQ on AI Use.
