District Governor Bio Ellison Crider 2019-2020
District Governor Ellison Crider was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. He worked in the retail electronics business beginning in 1979 until 1990, when he began a second career in the computer software industry. He retired from the software business in 2014 and began a third career as a business owner in partnership with his wife, Fay. They purchased a franchise from Buddy’s Home Furnishings and currently own two stores in Corpus Christi in Robstown.
Ellison’s “fourth career”, which has spanned over 30 years, is in Rotary. He joined the Corpus Christi Sunrise club in 1984, the second week after it was chartered. After his daughter Lauren was born in 1988 he took a brief hiatus from early morning meetings and then joined the Corpus Christi Southside Club in 1990. There he served as board member, Rotary Foundation Chair, and president. Realizing after starting the business he would have a hard time making noon meetings he joined the Corpus Christi Evening Club in 2015.
Ellison has served in many leadership positions in District 5930. His passion has been planning District Conferences, where he got his start at District involvement. He has also been assistant district governor and he and current District Governor Andy Hagan were the first lieutenant governors for District 5930.
Ellison and Fay are ardent supporters of the Rotary Foundation. He is a Paul Harris Fellow +8 and a member of the Paul Harris Society. He is a member of the Bequest Society. Fay is a Paul Harris Fellow as well. Ellison and Fay are also Major Donors to the Rotary Foundation. Lauren is also a Paul Harris Fellow.
